Specifications include, but are not limited to:Horry County Schools (HCS) is one of the largest school systems in the State of South Carolina and is coterminous with Horry Countys land area of approximately 1,152 square miles. The present boundaries of the District were established in 1952 as a result of the consolidation of all existing school Districts in the county. The countywide school district encompasses 51 schools in the nine attendance areas of Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest, Conway, Socastee, North Myrtle Beach, Loris, Aynor, Green Sea Floyds and St. James. Horry County Schools, with more than 42,000 students, is South Carolinas third largest school district. 1.1 PURPOSE The purpose of this Fixed Price Bid (FPB) and the resultant contract(s) is to provide Horry County Schools (HCS) with a means of acquiring maintenance, repair, and operational (MRO) supplies which are purchased repetitively and/or on an as-needed basis. The resulting contract(s) will provide the Facilities Maintenance Department a method of walk-in purchasing (point-of-sale) of supplies at retail outlets located within this geographical area (Conway, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Little River, Longs, Loris, Marion, Murrells Inlet, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Pawleys Island, Socastee, and Surfside). This will also include Emergency Disaster Recovery supplies. The following information, taken from HCS Procurement Code Article IV (5) and South Carolina Procurement Code Section 11-35-1525, will give a better understanding of the Fixed Price Bid process: (a) Fixed Price Bidding. The purpose of fixed price bidding is to provide multiple sources of supply for specific goods or services based on a preset maximum price which the District will pay for such goods or services, (b) Pricing. The District shall establish, before issuance of the fixed price bid, a maximum amount the District will pay for such goods or services desired. (c) Evaluation. Vendors' responses to the fixed price bid will be reviewed to determine if they are responsive and responsible
