Specifications include, but are not limited to:The MatanuskaSusitna Borough is soliciting bids for the purchase and installation of replacementautomotive windshield glass. Bid prices shall include all labor, travel, materials and installationcosts. Vehicles to be serviced under this contract include support vehicles as well as fire and rescueapparatus owned by the Borough. The vehicles shall include, but are not limited to those vehiclesshown on the bid sheet and Attachment A.MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONSAll glass supplied with this contract shall be manufactured in the United States and shall meet therequirements of the original vehicle materials such as tint, fit and applicable standards. The type ofglass used will be at a minimum original equipment equivalent (OEE). Replacement glass shalladditionally meet the following Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) related to automotiveglass: FMVSS 205 Glazing Materials FMVSS 208 Occupant Crash Retention FMVSS 212 Windshield Retention FMVSS 216 Roof Crush ResistanceGlass installation and chip repair will be made on site at the Boroughs maintenance facilities located inPalmer and Wasilla as well as Public Safety buildings located throughout the borough, (AttachmentB). Contractor must be properly insured and provide proof prior to contract execution. Insurancerequirements are contained in the sample agreement.Installation personnel must be compliant with the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) for autoglass replacement safety standards. All electrical components associated with the glass installation willbe the responsibility of the installer. Molding (trim) will only be replaced at the request of the ownerand invoiced as a separate item on the invoice.Sealant used during the installation of all products shall be fast curing and non-shrinking. Drying timefor sealants shall not exceed two (2) hours at 60 degrees F.
