Illinois is home to the fifth-largest state economy in the U.S. In 2014, the total GSP for Illinois reached $745 billion, with much of this figure representing the outputs of the state’s most active industries including the publishing sector, equipment manufacturing, petroleum and coal processing, food products processing and several other areas of production. With the amount of business activity occurring in Illinois, it’s no surprise that the state has a well-developed network of small business support services and programs that are designed to help entrepreneurs get their companies off the ground, and to help businesses established elsewhere relocate to Illinois.
