Illinois is home to the fifth-largest state economy in the U.S. In 2014, the total GSP for Illinois reached $745 billion, with much of this figure representing the outputs of the state’s most active industries including the publishing sector, equipment manufacturing, petroleum and coal processing, food products processing and several other areas of production.
