Specifications
Specifications include, but are not limited to: Well No. 9 is located 3771 Carlin Avenue (northwest corner of Carlin Avenue and Bradfield Avenue). It was built in 1947 and was last rehabilitated on November2010. Well No. 9 is currently undergoing a Well Pump Overhaulas part of a Well Optimization Project recommended by Lincus and SCE. As part of the project,the contractor was to remove the pump, column, and investigate the well. Upon investigation, the well had 32 gallons of Certified NSF food grade oilon top of the surface water. The recommendation was to pump out the oil, clean, and video the well. The well video, which is available for review by proposers, showed extreme deficiencies that would render the well incapable of being re-assembled without infrastructure stabilization.After theassessment of Water Well No. 9 and its recent performance, staff has determined that it requires additional rehabilitation and a change from oil lubrication to water lubricationoperation at this time for future water quality an in order to be in compliance with the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal-EPA) and its requirements.
