Walton Middle School Waterworks Replacement

Specifications include, but are not limited to: e replacement of the existing water storage tank, booster pump and wellwater piping with all associated equipment. Electrical modifications required to support thework as described are also included.;Contractor shall visit the site and explore the existing conditions prior to bidding. Contractorshall be aware of potential damage to building, sidewalks, roadways, and landscaping indetermining the method for removal and installation of equipment.WELL: Well Classification - IIB (Existing), 60' casing (Existing) and 50' grout (Existing).; Well Depth - 405'; Pump Depth - 252'; Well Yield - 11.2 gpm+ ;WATER PIPEInstallation: Buried HDPE pressure pipe and fittings shall be installed in accordance with ASTM D2774 forpressure systems and AWWA Manual of Practice M55 Chapter 7.; Pipe embedment - Embedment material shall be Class I, Class II, or Class III , materials asdefined by ASTM D-2321 Section 6. The use of Class IV and Class V materials is notrecommended, however it may be used only with the approval of the engineer and appropriatecompaction.; Pipe Bedding - Sand in conformance with ASTM D2321 Section 8. Compaction rates should beas specified in ASTM D2321. Deviations shall be approved by the engineer.; Pipe Initial Backfill - Sand in conformance with ASTM D 2321 Section 9 with Class I, II, or IIImaterials. Compaction shall be in excess of 85% Proctor.;FACTORY WELDED AND COATED VERTICAL STEEL ATMOSPHERIC WATER STORAGETANK: A vertical above ground double wall carbon steel flat bottomed liquid storage tank with thenominal capacity of 13,500 gallons, completed, including outlets, drains, instrument nozzles,brackets,, ladder, walkways, equipment, painting and all accessories as shown on attacheddrawings as required.; Tank and foundation to be supplied, designed, and erected by the tank supplier. The tank suppliershall be fully responsible for the entire installation including piping (5' outside of tank wall),backfill, concrete foundation, erection, and ultimate water tightness of the complete installation.; The Tank Supplier shall be a specialist in the supply and installation of factory-coated and factorywelded steel tanks. The Manufacturer shall be quality system certified, having an active ISO-9000registration.
