Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1.08 ENGINE AND RELATED COMPONENTSEngine shall be an in line 6 design 15 liter minimum, turbo charged Cummins ISX diesel enginecapable of developing 450 HP and 1,650 FT-LBS Torque. Aluminum core radiator shall be at least1300 square inches, with Blue Stripe hoses throughout and coolant protection to -10 degrees F. Exhaustto be single vertical with diesel particulate filter mounted on the passenger side with a non-polishedaluminum heat shield. Factory installed integral 3 stage Engine Brake. Engine electronics to have fulldiagnostic capability and shutdown capabilities for critical engine functions. Engine mounted fuelfilter/water separator with water in fuel indicator. Engine crankcase to be equipped with magnetic drainplug.3.1.09 STARTING AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 12-Volt system fuse/circuit breaker protected 12V gear reduction starter, 12V 160 amp alternator minimum Minimum of 3 - 12V maintenance free group 31 batteries with 925 cold cranking ampseach, threaded stud batteries to be mounted in a single steel box.3.1.10 TRANSMISSION AND DRIVELINETransmission to be an Allison 4500-RDS-6 six speed automatic over drive Rugged Duty SeriesGen 4 with transmission cooler, external oil cooler, internal filter, oil level sensor, temperaturegauge and aluminum bell housing. Allison transmission to be factory filled with TRANSYNDsynthetic lubricant. Allison transmission low gear ratio = 4.70 and transmission high gear ratio =.67 over drive.3.1.11 CAB EXTERIORCab to be conventional style with forward tilting hood designed for construction and vocationalapplications. Hood shall be designed in such a manner that the vehicle operator has maximum groundvisibility in front of the front bumper. Hood is to be a full tilting fiberglass design with safety latch. Cab doors should also have high visibility roll up style windows and at a minimum, the passenger side doorwindow must have a power control. Cab to feature an air horn in addition to the standard electric signalhorn, headlights with replaceable halogen lamps, West Coast mirrors with 8 convex mirrors mountedbelow the West Coast mirrors, exterior sun visor painted to match cab color, safety tinted glass, and grabor entry handles on both sides of cab. Cab exterior and chassis to have all required DOT and ICC lighting(turn signal indicators, emergency flashers, rear stop, tail, turn and backup lighting.) All lighting to beLED type. Cab and hood paint color to be manufacturers standard white color. Vehicle to beequipped with a Backup alarm. Exterior grab handle to be provided to ease access in and out ofChassis Cab.3.1.12 FRONTAL SAFETY VISIBILITYVehicle windshield and hood shall be designed in such a fashion that a typical vehicle operator willclearly be able to see the road in front of the front bumper. This measurement shall be determined byplacing the vehicle on level ground and casting a laser beam from the center vertical height of thewindshield over top of the hood at its tallest frontal portion, and measuring the contact distance onthe ground to the front bumper. Record this measurement on proposal response item page. Hoodornaments do not have to be considered.
