Specifications
Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Duluth Transit Authority Operations Center located at 2402 West Michigan Street, Duluth,MN, is approximately 40 years old. The building houses the DTA administrative offices,maintenance office and bus storage facility. Part of the bus storage facility is built over MillerCreek, which creek runs through a tunnel in the rear of the bus storage area. The tunnel wasinspected in December 2019 and is in need of preventative maintenance to maintain its integrity.Attached is the engineering report detailing the areas that require maintenance.The DTA is seeking qualified firms to provide all labor, materials and tools to repair and rehabilitatethe tunnel. Scope of work includes dewatering and rerouting water from storm pipes, removing andreplacing corroded rebar, patching scoured concrete, relining an 18-inch corrugated metal pipe(CMP) pipe and patching a reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) in accordance with the specificationsherein. All equipment and materials supplied must be commercial grade equipment suitable for aheavy use industrial setting.2. The DTA intends to award a Contract to one firm. Bidders must be able to demonstrate at leastthree (3) years experience in the past five (5) years in similar work, and must supply three (3)references with the Bid. Bidders that are unable to demonstrate previous experience will bedeemed non-responsible and their Bid will be rejected. Contractors who have failed to performsimilar projects satisfactorily or to complete similar projects on time may be disqualified at the solediscretion of the DTA.3. The Bidder is solely responsible for determining the actual field measurement of the projectarea prior to Bid submission. Bidders must satisfy themselves by examination of the Contractdocuments, the work site and the conditions and obstacles to be encountered in the field, and bysuch other means as may be necessary, as to the accuracy of the schedule of quantities of thework to be done and the intent of the Contract documents. After submission of the Bid, nocomplaint nor claim that there was any misunderstanding as to the quantities, conditions or natureof the work will be entertained and no extra compensation shall be allowed by reason of any matteror thing concerning which Bidder might have informed himself prior to Bidding.4.
