Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to: Signal Pole Inventory Contract The City of Sugar Land requests services for supplying various types of steel poles, which include traffic signal poles, pedestrian signal poles, roadway illumination assemblies, wayfinding sign poles, and other items per the tabulation bid sheet. All steel poles listed in the tabulation bid sheet must comply with the current Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highway, Streets, and Bridges and related TxDOT Standard drawings (see attached sheets). All steel poles and mast arms shall be designed to meet or exceed TxDOTs specifications for a 100-mph design wind speed. In order for the steel poles to meet current City of Sugar Land standards, the poles must also meet the following requirements: All ornamental traffic signal poles (including pedestrian poles) and mast arms shall be 18-sided brake-formed fabrications. No multi-ply poles are allowed. All items designated as ornamental shall be powder-coated with black color. The ornamental traffic pole bases shall include the City of Sugar Land logo and be made of cast aluminum. The ornamental traffic signal poles and bases must match the look of the Citys current poles and bases. See attached details and images. Any detail or dimension not shown per the attached detail sheets must be field verified. The manufacturer must match the look and dimensions of the current ornamental poles and bases. Non-ornamental traffic poles must meet the TxDOT specifications and drawings. As part of the contract the supplier must maintain a select inventory of items specified by Exhibit 1. The vendor must provide inventory stock items to the City within seventy-two (72) hours of written notice to the vendor. In the event of termination or expiration of the contract with the awarded Contractor, the City bears no obligation to purchase any inventory maintained by the awarded Contractor. Items not listed in stock must be provided to the City within sixty (60) days of written notice to the vendor. The vendor must also provide the anchor bolts, frangible roadway light bases, bolts, caps, covers, and related hardware needed for each item listed in the tabulation bid sheet and comply with the current TxDOT Specifications and Standard drawings. The vendor must provide an itemized packaging slip for each shipment to City personnel; whether delivered to the City or picked up at the vendors facilities.
