Specifications include, but are not limited to: . 5.1 Radio Production ServicesThe recording studio is responsible for recording and editing the voice tracks for each program, mixing the programs with a music bed and sound effects, delivering the completed programs to the University producer for review, and making any revisions or corrections needed to meet professional broadcast standards and the standards established by the producer.Each daily program consists of a short introduction (roughly 5-7 seconds) recorded without music, plus the body of the program (2 minutes), which is recorded with the music.Programs are recorded with punch-ins, so the engineer must be able to edit quickly.The engineer also must edit to remove extraneous sounds, such as voice clicks, providing a clean recording.Some programs (the number varies from month to month) include audio clips provided by the producer, or sound-library clips provided by the studio. In addition, each week includes a promotional message (30 seconds), which is recorded with music.The studio will deliver a completed month of programs (a total of 60-67 tracks, depending on the number of days in the month) on audio compact disk, via online post, or through other media designated by the producer.5.2 Radio Production DeliverablesContractor will:Record the programs; edit audio clips; mix the narration, music, and additional audio to provide complete radio programs;Provide a template for the audio that ensures the fades, levels, and voice quality are replicated within each show;Provide easy access to the studio and a full body line of sight between the voice talent and producer and audio engineer;Provide a master CD (12 CDs a year) for review by the University (producer);Make any necessary revisions to the monthly programs, and provide a new master CD for distribution, under the schedule provided by the University (producer).Contractor will provide access to sound effects for use as appropriate.Contractor will provide recording services for special McDonald Observatory and StarDate programs, such as the narration for videos and audio podcasts; and all necessary services including editing, mixing, and working with the producer on sound design.
