Specifications include, but are not limited to:Frederick County, Maryland (hereinafter called the County) is seeking bids from qualifiedContractors (hereinafter called the Contractor) for the provision and installation of a Fiberglass ReinforcedPlastic (FRP) double walled, insulated and heat traced tank used for the bulk storage of 12.5% concentrationof sodium hypochlorite in accordance with the terms, conditions and specification of this solicitation.STORAGE TANK DELIVERY AND HANDLING: Tank to be transported and installed permanufacturer instructions. The contractor will be fully responsible for thorough inspection of the tank upon arrival and for the proper handling and installation. Contractor shall insure that goodworkmanlike practices and construction procedures are followed during the handling and installingtank.16.1.1 Prepare and protect tank for shipment as follows: tank on padded cradles if shipped horizontally or on a suitable skid ifshipped vertically. flanged nozzles with wooden blinds bolted to flange and having a diameterof 2 inches greater than outside diameter of flange. either rigid plugs inside ends to prevent deflection or wooden boxes forunflanged components. not ship components or other pieces loose inside tank. tank with at least 2 inches of clearance between tank (including fittings) andbulkheads, or bed of vehicle. of mode of transportation, firmly fasten and pad components to preventshifting of load or flexing of components while in transit.16.2 MANUFACTURER: Justin Tanks LLC, 21413 Cedar Creek Avenue, Georgetown, Delaware,1994716.3 INSTALLATION16.3.1 Installation to be performed in accordance with fabricators written instructions.16.3.2 Accurately place anchor bolts using templates furnished by fabricator.16.3.3 Tank Padding Material: Tank padding material shall be provided to protect the bottomof the tank. Material will be one of the following: Felt: Two ply. Sheets shall butt together and shall not overlap. The second ply should be placed 90 degrees from the initial ply ofroofing felt. Sheeting: Single ply. 1/4 inch thick. Sheets shall butt together and shall not overlap. Rubber shall be a soft corrosion resistant material, such as EPDM,neoprene, red rubber or natural rubber.16.3.4 Ladders and Handrails: Ladders and Handrails shall be as approved in Justin Tanks,LLC submittal.16.3.5 Lifting Lugs: Provide suitably attached for tank weighing over 100 pounds.16.3.6 Anchor Bolts: Type 316 stainless steel bolts, sized by fabricator16.3.7 Manway Bolts: Type 316 stainless steel bolts and nuts16.3.8 Tank Insulation: tank with two-pound density polyurethane foam board with thickness asindicated on tank data sheets. Install insulation board in 1-inch thick layers toobtain specified thickness, stagger joints. Insulation shall be applied to tankstructural laminate before laminate has hardened, bonding the insulation to thetank wall.
