Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1Provide mentoring services to School Leaders, including school principals and other LEA leaders, for LEAs in improvement status, as assigned by ADE.4.2Plan and conduct a minimum of two on-site mentoring sessions per month for each participating School Leader in the assigned LEA; Contractor Sessions should allow sufficient time for the mentoring cycle, and last three (3) to eight (8) hours contact per day, depending on school size and context as determined in collaboration with the school leader, ADE staff and the mentor. A total of one (1) day is allowed per month for every 2 days onsite for necessary planning, emails and phone calls. 4.2.1 Submit a calendar of planned visits to ADE for approval. 4.3Assist the School Leader in facilitating the process to develop, submit and implement each of the LEAs 90-Day Plan; this task includes: 4.3.1Involving all stakeholders in looking at CNA data, 4.3.2Using the root cause analysis process, 4.3.3Selecting strategies and targeted actions, 4.3.4Identifying how to monitor for evidence of progress, and accountability checkpoints, based on the schools CNA and IAP. 4.3.5The Mentor may be more involved with the early plans and then move to a gradual release as the school team learns and practices a short-cycle mindset.4.4Planwith the School Leader alone and with teams (leadership, grade level, district) to ensure the implementation of each 90-Day Plan.4.5 Assist the School Leader in goal setting activities: gather pre-assessment data; set individual development goals and monitor growth.4.6 Support the School Leaders instructional leadership development, school culture and climate, performance management and data-driven decision practices. 4.7 Examine data (observational, student performance, teacher artifacts including Data Driven Instruction and integration of content learning) to help drive institutional changes. 4.8 Conduct conversations with the School Leader about student learning data, goal setting, and practices. 4.9 Conduct side-by-side support with the School Leader during leadership events, walkthroughs of classrooms, classroom observations and analysis of classroom data and feedback conversations including the instructional supervision habits that are interim in the implementation rubric (School Leader to teachers and mentor to School Leader). 4.10 Engage in reflective practices (i.e. think alouds and journaling) with School Leader to review progress, gain insights and formulate future actions.
