Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:. The contractor MUST have experience identifying Russian olive and tamarisk.No cottonwoods or willows will be removed or damaged.Tamarisk and Russian olive will be removed using chainsaws.Remaining tamarisk and Russian olive stumps will be cut as low as possible (close to ground level), then immediately treated with herbicide (within 10 minutes of cutting at the most) to prevent resprouting.All cut material will be piled for burning. Burn piles will be twice as high as wide, and a minimum of 10 feet away from leave trees.Trees along fence lines should be removed without damaging the fence. This may mean multiple cuts to remove a tree.NO cut material should be in the river. All burn piles should be in areas that will not wash away in the event of a rainstorm.Specifications and Quality Control: The contractor is responsible for providing quality control to assure that work complies with contract specifications. FFSL will do periodic inspections to ensure consistency with contract specifications.
