Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bid Item No. 1. Removal of all Existing DebrisThe work shall consist of removal of existing miscellaneous debris located within theconstruction area as indicated on the plans. All items shall be deposited in an orderly manner toa location as provided by the Owner, Marvin Hardison. These items will include the removaland disposal of any trees, scrubs, fencing, or any other items as required to clear the site for theproper execution of the grading of the property.Bid Item No. 2. Removal of Topsoil and replacement after earthworkThe work shall consist of removal of all existing topsoil from the entire grading area. Thetopsoil shall be stockpiled and reinstalled to the indicated elevations on the plans.Bid Item No. 3. EarthworkThe work shall consist of all common earthwork to be removed and deposited in fill areas toprovide proper stormwater runoff to prevent the flooding of Mr. Hardisons residence andgarage. Any excess earth shall be removed from the site or deposited in an area of offsite asprovided by Mr. Hardison. Any bedrock excavation encounter in the construction of the finalgrading plans shall be performed and the price of this bedrock excavation shall be included inthis bid item price. It may be necessary to lower existing water lines or sewerage lines toprovide the proper grading as indicated elevations on the plans. Any cost related to the loweringor replacement of existing underground utilities shall be included in this item bid price.Bid Item No. 4. Gravel DrivewayThe work shall consist of the reconstruction of the existing driveway from CR 436 to theconcrete apron located at the entrance to Mr. Hardisons Garage. The work shall require theremoval of any existing gravel, the excavation of proper side drainage swales, the compaction ofthe subgrade, replacement of the existing gravel, furnishing and instating of 3 gravel gravel asindicated on the typical section. All final grades shall be as indicated on the plans.Bid Item No. 5. Seed and fertilize yard areaThis work shall consist of the preparing the entire disturbed construction area for the fertilizingand seeding to provide a permanent grass yard. The seed shall be as per specification Table735.1, ODOT, Standard Specifications for Highway Construction. The selection of the type andblend of the seed shall be made to provide an all year around lawn for the property. The entiredisturbed construction area shall be fertilized as per specification ODOT Specification 735.06 The fertilizer shall be Grade 10-20-10 and applied at a rate of 100 lbs. per acre. The Contractorshall guarantee a permanent grassed year and he shall provide adequate watering to establish apermanent growth of grass for a period of 6 months. It is possible to arrange an agreement withMr. Hardison to water the yard during the growth period.Bid Item No. 6. Concrete ApronThis work shall consist of the removal of the existing concrete apron located in the front of thegarage and the sidewalk to the front door. The installation of a new concrete apron and sidewalkat the elevations to provide a positive drainage flow of storm water away from the residence. Theminimum slope shall be 6 inches below the entrance of the garage at the outer edge of the apron.All concrete shall 3000 psi strength and place in proper standard construction methods. Thefinish shall be smooth concrete troweled and not have any tripping hazards for handicappedaccessibility.
