This project proposes modifications to a PRV Vault and addition of a "superstructure" to house electrical controls for newly installed pumps. This facility previously housed a pump station. While the pumps for the pump station were removed years ago, pressure relief valves remain on the site to regulate system pressures. The Water Department recently conducted an analysis of our water supply system and a deficiency was identified that could inhibit the Water Department's ability to provide domestic water to neighborhoods in the Aspen Highlands area. Installing new pumps is the most effective solution. This provides redundancy and reduces the possibility of losing water pressure to the neighborhoods around Aspen Highlands. Additionally, adding the staircase will eliminate permit required confined space requirements and improve employee safety.
