Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.Maintain ability to respond around the clock, each day of the year, and within two (2)hours of receiving notification of a customers call for service. The Contractor willprovide prompt and courteous service to customers always. He will also instill theunderstanding within all employees as to the importance of restoring service withoutdelay or hesitation. Due to customer service concerns, no portion of this work shall besubcontracted without prior consent of the JCSA.The JCSA is not responsible for grinder pumps that are not under a binding serviceagreement with the JCSA. If the contractor receives a call for a grinder pump not onour service agreement list, he would respond in accordance with paragraph 15 of thissection.2.Provide services relating to the repair or replacement of the grinder pump coreassembly. The contractor will furnish all parts and labor to repair or replace the pumpand the internal electrical and pressure controls. He will always replace failed grinderpumps with serviceable units, and relay serial numbers of old and new pumps to theJCSA (Reference Section VIII, Paragraph C). The decision whether to replace orrepair items covered under the service agreement will be made by the successful Contractor. For this reason, Contractors must maintain an adequate inventory of Environmental One parts for models that are currently accepted in the JCSA grinder pump maintenance program.When making repairs to the grinder pump itself, the collection tank, or any internal electrical components, only Environment One manufactured parts and materials may be used. No aftermarket or competitors parts and materials may be used on or within the Environment Ones pumps or tanks. This includes but is not limited to electricalconnectors, rebuild kits, or the like.3.Assess sites overall conditions during response to a grinder pump call. Obtain beforeand after photos of the site and equipment condition. Should there be a possibleproblem on the JCSA side of the grinder pump assembly, immediately notify JCSA.This would normally be in the form of a sewer blockage between the grinder pumptank and the JCSAs main line. The Contractor is responsible for clearing anystoppages between the grinder pump tank and homeowners clean out.4.While responding to service calls the contractor will also inspect for deficiencies, sucha low or no voltage from homeowner, broken or malfunctioning disconnect switches,malfunctioning alarm circuits, excessive grease buildup, improper grade around thetank, collapsed tanks, broken lids, etc. In conjunction with JCSA, the contractor willdevelop a checklist of potential deficiencies to be investigated at each service call.Should any be noted, the Contractor will then give the homeowner a writtennotification of all deficiencies. The Contractor will also copy the following JCSApoints of contact via email for all deficiencies:James Canning, james.canning@jamescitycountyva.govDouglas Lang, JCSA will then follow-up with the homeowner.5.Contact the JCSA should the Contractor find the grinder pumps current drawconsistently at or above the nameplate rating of the pump (eight (8) amperes). Ablockage in the force main could cause this symptom between the tank and themainline.
