Specifications include, but are not limited to: 14 COATTo avoid liability and interface problems, coats and pants shall be procured from the same manufacturer.14.1 COMPOSITE MATERIALSThe Airport has determined the ONLY acceptable combination of materials. Any substitution ofmaterials shall be grounds for immediate disqualification of bid without further consideration.14.2 OUTER SHELLSafety Components PBI MAX 7.0 (Gold) - is composed of 70% PBI/DuPont Kevlar spun yarns and30% 600 denier DuPont Kevlar that is a flexible fabric woven with filament and spun yarns in anexclusive twill weave design.14.3 THERMAL LINERSafety Components 7.4 oz. Glide Ice 2-Layer - quilted to two layers of DuPont Nomex E89 spun lace 2.3 ounces per square yard (opsy) and 1.5 opsy.14.4 MOISTURE BARRIERStedfast STEDAIR 4000 a Nomex IIIA woven substrate laminated to a breathable ePTFE membranewith a nominal weight of 5.0 opsy.14.5 DESIGN CONCEPT (STYLING)The standard coat design shall be of a 3-panel, consisting of two front panels and one back panel. Thebody panels shall be shaped to provide a tailored fit thereby enhancing body movement and shall bejoined together by double stitching with Nomex thread or equal. For thisreason, other than waist-high pants shall not be considered acceptable or equal, since additional trunkwrapping traps heat and moisture, increasing heat stress buildup while also creating mechanicalresistance when covering the natural torso flexion point of the waist.15.6 PATTERNING CONCEPTPants garments shall be designed such that it reduces bunching of materials in the crotch. The legsshall be contoured to match the body and reduce working weight with knees designed to enable freeand easy movement.
