The City of Longmont passed its first Sustainability Plan in 2016, establishing targets and strategies in ten different topics areas that work towards creating a community that promotes environmental stewardship, economic vitality, and social equity to create a sustainable thriving future for all. For the past three years, the Sustainability Program has been working to develop and implement initiatives throughout the City that work towards this vision. More information on the Sustainability Plan and Program is available on the City's website (https://www.longmontcolorado.gov/community/sustainability). The current target, as determined in the 2016 Greenhouse Gas Inventory, is to reduce transportation fuel consumption by 33% by 2050 in order to help meet Longmont's greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals. The two key objectives identified are: 1) Increase the electrification of vehicles, and 2) Reduce single-occupancy vehicle travel through multimodal travel. This Transportation Roadmap will explore the potential of increasing the existing target for reduction of transportation fuel consumption based on key criteria developed by the consultant and Technical Advisory Committee, as well as determine interim targets between 2020-2050. In addition, the Roadmap will determine targets for the two key objectives listed above, and will detail the policies, programs, timelines and resources needed for implementation that Longmont will need to put in place in order to increase electric vehicle uptake, and reduce single-occupancy vehicle travel by enabling greater access to transit, biking, walking, and carpooling. This plan expands the more standard "EV (Electric Vehicle) Readiness Roadmap" to include a broader focus on reducing mobile fuel consumption overall to result in a carbon-free transportation system, and doing so in a way that equitably meets the needs of residents across our community. Please Note: The City will only accept proposals submitted in the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System and will not accept hardcopy proposals, or proposals submitted by any other means.
