Specifications include, but are not limited to: Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) will work with the University and LEAP leadership to engage directly withUofL research groups and help advance technologies toward market. The EIRs will become familiar withthe latest research at UofL, advise faculty and staff on entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities, and,when the right opportunity presents itself, help catalyze new startups around innovations and technologies.EIRs will also provide connections and a front door for other entrepreneurs, investors, and the widerbusiness community into the university and LEAP programs and will support collaboration inentrepreneurship among all Kentucky universities. The ultimate goal of the EIR program is to launch newventures leveraging university inventions that result in new, fast-growth businesses in Kentucky. The EIRsmay also serve as an executive, board member, or mentor to a startup that originates from universityinventions. They will also provide connection for other entrepreneurs and investors into the invention andinnovation ecosystems at UofL and other Kentucky institutions, which is a critical linkage between publicand private sectors and Kentuckys pockets of talent and innovation. Specific examples of the work willinclude but not be limited to: Utilize EIRs experience in commercializing technology-based products and high-growth/scalablestartup companies; Mentor project team members (founders, University innovators including clinical and technical staff,as well as students, grad-assistants), regarding key aspects of technology and product developmentwith an intent for eventual commercialization;o Meet with teams in person at least twice per month
