Specifications include, but are not limited to:The College is seeking a firm to work with the Colleges Director of Human Resources and other senior college officialsto achieve the goal of delivering an Employee Salary Plan Study and Recommendations that will include, among othercomponents: compensation policies, procedures and practices. The overall classification and compensation plan mustprovide internal equity and yet be competitive in the marketplace in attracting and retaining qualified employees. Thiswill include (but is not limited to) the following: Review current salary structure, compensation policies and procedures, position titles and classifications of fulltime and part time staff and faculty and propose appropriate adjustments, if any; Review current job descriptions for consistency and accuracy and make recommendations to improve jobdescriptions. Identify management, supervisory, professional, technical/paraprofessional and general employees, including FairLabor Standards Act (FLSA) status (exempt/non-exempt); Develop a comprehensive labor market salary survey for SCCs service area in comparison to other area NorthCarolina Community Colleges; Recommend salary range for each position based on results of the survey and best practices; Identify a clearly defined process by which new employees are placed into the salary structure based on educationlevel, years of experience, or any other criteria deemed appropriate for the position; Evaluate positions to determine the degree of skill, effort, responsibility, and working conditions in relation to otherpositions at the college; Develop definitional guidelines for salary ranges, including hiring, position changes, equity/performance/COL andpromotion guidelines; Develop definitional guidelines for salary adjustments based on internal equity, performance/merit or cost of livingadjustments; Help guide the College through a decision-making process of any necessary salary adjustments based on the study,remaining sensitive to College goals and limited resources; Provide a timeline that outlines key completion dates for the project phases; Throughout the process, the selected consultant will assist the College with appropriate employee communicationsto include employee input and feedback; Participate in at least two college wide employee meetings to communicate the final job classification andcompensation system; Once this process is complete, help present the project plan to College Leadership and the Board of Trustees.
