Specifications include, but are not limited to: For continuous monitoring ofstress levels, participants will wear a E4 wristbands around their wrist. The E4 wristbands areequipped with the following sensors: PPG Sensor: Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor recordsblood volume pulse, from which heart rate, heart rate variability, and other cardiovascularfeatures may be derived. Variability in heart rate (the time between the peak of each heartbeat) can occur from both sympathetic and parasympathetic activation. Estimates ofsympathetic nervous system activation can be made by extracting certain frequency componentof this heart rate variability. HRV is a sensitive and selective measure of mental stress ; We can observe increases in sympathetic activation by monitoring subtle electricalchanges across the surface of the skin. 3-axis accelerometer, to capture motion-based activity.Infrared thermopile for reading skin temperature.
