Specifications include, but are not limited to: Design and Install new Ansul R-102 (no substitutions allowed for standardization) suppression system in accordance with current NFPA 17 and NFPA 96 standards, the Authority Having Jurisdiction (Austin Fire Dept) and the manufacturer current installation instructions. System to include all materials for a complete wet chemical kitchen fire suppression system including agent storage cylinders, stainless steel tank enclosures, control and interface devices, detectors, fuel shutoff devices and all other equipment necessary for a complete operational and code compliant system. All materials and components are to be new. All exposed piping to be chrome plated. Only system components referenced or specifically permitted in the manufacturers design, installation and maintenance manual shall be used. System to be installed by authorized Ansul distributor that has been trained by the manufacturer and holds a current certificate in an Ansul R102 training program. The pre engineered fire suppression system components shall be warranted for five years from date of delivery against defects in workmanship and materials.System shall be provided with a one year warranty from Ansul Systems.Contractor to remove existing conduit, conduit straps, pulleys, pull stations, cabling, tanks, control heads and other components of existing system. Used suppression system components shall not be permitted to be reinstalled in new systems, including pipe or conduit from previous installation. Penetrations and holes resulting from the removal of conduit or piping shall be sealed with listed equivalent liquid-tight sealing devices. Contractor to properly dispose of removed tanks and suppression agent.Contractor shall obtain all required permits and authorization for the work. Contractor shall provide submittal drawings and other required documents to City of Austin Fire Department. Complete drawings of the proposed system installation, including the hood(s), exhaust duct(s), and appliances, along with the interface of the fire extinguishing system detectors, piping, nozzles, fuel and electric power shutoff devices, agent storage container(s), and manual actuation device(s), shall be submitted to the authority having jurisdiction. Provide AISD Project Manager with one complete set of electronic submittal documents for review.
