Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Complete building survey and property survey. The intent is to provide a completesurvey of the building from basement to the roof,to provide a clear understanding ofthe building for the demolition contractors use. An ALTA property survey is to beprovided to clearly understand the limits of the property and all elements that arerelative to the property for use during the project and for post deconstructiondevelopment. Copies of the survey will be submitted to the Office of FacilitiesManagementfor review and approval.2. Hazardous Materials. Acknowledge and identify all hazardous materials to beremoved. Respondent will engage a qualified and licensed environmental companyregularly engaged in the identification and verification of all types of hazardousmaterials. A Hazardous Materials Building Survey report will be submitted to theOffice of Facilities Management for review. Respondent will providerecommendations to Louisville Metro as to the best practices for removal of allidentified and verified hazardous materials and this work will become part of thedeconstruction work by the successfuldeconstruction contractor. The objective ofthehazardous building material survey is to identify building materials that will requireabatement,removal, orspecial handling, or have unique disposal requirements. If notaddressed properly, these materials may expose workers to health hazards ifdisturbed during deconstruction activities. In addition, not addressing hazardousbuilding materials properly may invoke fines, citations, penalties from regulatoryagencies or litigation from those potentially exposed to hazardous conditions.
