Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide preventative maintenance and load tests for National Guard facilities located in theCentral region of Maryland. The awarded Contractor will also provide repairs as necessary. 5.3.1 The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies for the inspection,lubrication, certification, and load testing of all equipment listed on Attachment F. Theequipment to be provided shall include forklifts or any other devices necessary for access to theequipment for inspections.5.3.2 Semi-Annual inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance shall be performed inaccordance with applicable regulations, codes, standards, and manufacturers recommendationsfor each unit listed as a part of these specifications. The Semi-annual inspections shall include avisual inspection and operational testing of all parts for distortion and signs that indicate the needfor replacement. The parts to be inspected include:A. Mechanical systemB. Structural systemC. Electrical systemD. Wire rope(s)E. Chain(s)F. Safety SystemG. Gear CasesH. Load HooksI. Crane Grinders,J. Rails,K. Column trolleyL. Hoist framesM. All Controllers (remote and wired)5.3.3 Annual load test inspections shall be conducted according to the manufacturers specificationsand be a minimum of 125% of the rated load for the equipment. All load tests will be conductedin the month listed on Attachment F in the Load Test column.If a hook is required to be tested by magnetic particle or dye penetrant, the Contractor shall installa spare hook. The Contractor will return and reinstall the hook after successful testing of theDMIL owned hook. If the DMIL owned hook fails inspection, the Contractor shall notify the DMILlocation contact of the failure.
