Specifications include, but are not limited to: Pipe shall be driven in 5 foot lengths to refusal or to the depth ordered, and washed out every 5feet below the water table. Wash samples shall be trapped, allowed to settle, collected, andstored. The Contractor shall provide a log of the subsurface conditions encountered.If suitable water bearing formations are encountered, the Contractor shall set 1 1/4 inch diameterstainless steel well screens as specified under Section 1.2 inside the 2 1/2 inch pipe and exposethe screen to the aquifer by retracting the 2 1/2 inch pipe. One or more screen sections may beused. Screen slot size for the test wells shall be determined by examination of the wash samples.If no suitable water bearing formations are encountered, no screens shall be set and theContractor shall attempt to remove the 2 1/2 inch diameter pipe from the ground, and fill in theresulting void with NSF approved gravel in screen area and 40 ft. of grout.After the screen has been developed, the Contractor shall conduct a short duration pump test witha power pump. Wells left in place shall be capped. It is to be extended above ground surface 2.5ft. and have a threaded coupling with a threaded plug. The Owner's Representative shall obtainand secure any water samples desired during the pump testing. Bottles for collecting watersamples shall be provided by the Owner's Representative.
