Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to: 22.1. Contractor shall accept and recycle/reuse or otherwise properly dispose of tires that aretransported by City to Collection Sites. Some of the tires will be mounted; others will not bemounted.22.2. Contractor shall provide a standard semi-trailer type container that is capable of storing up to1000 tires at the Collection Sites. The trailer shall be properly licensed and completelyenclosed. The Contractor shall deliver the container to the City-approved sites and the City willload the trailer/container provided. The trailer shall be kept on-site until notification that thetrailer is full. The Contractor shall provide training to City personnel on the proper method ofloading of container to optimize storage space and provide for the greatest amount of tiresloaded per container. The City will accept pricing for this method of collection based on thecost per cubic foot of a standard semi-trailer. Contractor shall provide the City with the length,width, height and registration (or identification) number for each container or trailer to be usedas part of this agreement.22.3. Contractor shall collect the tires from the Collection Sites within 48 hours notice, on an on-callbasis for the term of this Agreement. Contractor shall transport all tires that it collects from theCollection Sites to a state approved recycling, reuse or disposal Location.22.4. All tires shall become the property and sole responsibility of Contractor upon Contractor'sacceptance of them. Parties agree that acceptance occurs when the tires are loaded intoContractors container designated for transporting the tires. Contractor shall collect, store,transport, process and properly dispose, recycle or reuse all tires and tire derived products inaccordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Contractorshall indemnify the City and its agents, employees, and assigns from any and all liability,claims, demands, costs, and damages, including but not limited to those for ComprehensiveEnvironmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act or other environmental liability,resulting from the tires handled and services provided pursuant to this Agreement.22.5. For each collection performed, Contractor shall supply to City at the time of pickup, a waste tiremanifest that accounts for all tires collected in accordance with 329 IAC 15-4-13 and IndianaCode 13-20-14-5.22.6. Contractor shall maintain any and all registrations, certifications, authorizations, licenses,and/or permits required by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management laws, rules,and regulations, for the collection, transportation, storage, processing, and disposal of tires,including, but not limited to, 13-20-13-1 et seq., 13-20-14-1 et seq., and 329 IAC 15. Thisincludes, but is not limited to, being registered as a waste tire transporter, processer, orstorage facility (if applicable).
