Ceremonial Award Pins, Term Contract

Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. DESIGN.1.1 Pictures of the specified items are offered for download, and are for reference purposes only.1.2 The emblem shall be centered around the Baltimore County Seal.1.2.1 The seal is 13/32 in diameter.1.3 All detail on the design is recessed with red and black lacquer based finishes filling the detail in theseal.1.4 The seal shall be surrounded by a raised relief wreath.1.5 The twelve oclock area shall have a pentagonal shaped panel approximately 1/8 w X 1/8 h (pointup).1.5.1 This area shall have a recessed numeral to indicate the years of service.1.6 The wreath will wrap completely around the seal up to twelve oclock position at each side of thepentagonal shape.1.6.1 The ceremonial award pin for 20 years will not have a pentagonal shaped panel at the sixoclock position.1.6.2 The ceremonial award pins for years 25 to 50 years shall have a pentagonal shaped panel1/8 w X 1/8 h (point down) at the six oclock position to accommodate the stone.1.7 Specific Year Die Requirements1.7.1 For the 20, 25, and 30 year pins, each emblem is to be struck from a die for each specificyear category. Individual year dies are required for exact star and numeral reproduction andspacing and to eliminate imperfections caused by hand application of variables.1.7.2 Awards for years 35, 40, 45, and 50 years only may be produced from the same die, as thestar placement for these years are the same.2. MATERIALS AND FINISHES.2.1 Materials To Be Used For Different Years Of Service2.1.1 20 Years: 85% Copper/15% Zinc; brass alloy with polished highlights and Rhodium plated(high glossed metallic chrome like finish).2.1.2 25 and 30 Years: 1/20 10K gold filled with yellow antique smut finish lightly rubbed off withpolished highlights.2.1.3 35 thru 50 Years: 10K gold with yellow antique smut finish lightly rubbed off with polishedhighlights.2.2 The entire seal and pentagonal panel to be highly polished.2.3 The edges to be satined for 85/15 brass emblems and 1/20 10K gold filled emblems.2.4 The edges on 10K gold emblems to be brightly polished.2.5 All backs of emblems to be satin finish.2.6 The detail in seal and numerals to be filled with a lacquer based finish with coloredpigment.2.6.1 The color Rey Red in Cross Bottanee are top right and bottom left section.2.6.2 The color Flat Black in all other detail.3. EMBLEM VARIABLES TO DENOTE LENGTH OF SERVICE.3.1 20 years: Four recessed stars in seal left and right and above and below center 3/64 each fromcenter plus number 20 in panel. (No stones)3.2 25 years: Five recessed stars in seal spacing same as 20 year emblem plus star in center plusnumeral 25 in panel. (No stones)3.3 30 years: Six recessed stars in seal spacing same as 20 year emblem plus an additional star to leftand right maintaining spacing pattern of 15 year award plus one (1) 9 pearl plate (.015) syntheticruby direct set in panel. (Total of 1 ruby)3.4 35 years: Seven recessed stars in seal spacing same as 30 year emblem plus star in center plusone (1) 9 pearl plate (.015) diamond, 17 cuts, direct set in panel. (Total of 1 diamond)3.5 40 years: Seven recessed stars in seal same as 35 year emblem plus one (1) 9 pearl plate (.015)diamond, 17 cuts, regular or direct set in panel plus two (2) 9 pearl plate (.015) synthetic rubies, 58cuts, regular or direct set, one each in wreath to left or right of panel at five and seven oclock.(Total of 1 diamond and 2 rubies)3.6 45 years: Same as 40 year emblem except in emblem to be set with three (3) 9 pearl plate (.015)diamonds, 17 cuts, regular or direct set, one each to be set in panel and to left and right of panel atfive and seven oclock positions in wreath. (Total of 3 diamonds)3.7 50 years: Same as 45 year emblem except in addition to jeweling of 40 year emblem two (2) 9pearl plate (.015) diamonds, 17 cuts, to be regular set at seven and nine oclock positions inwreath. (Total of 5 diamonds)
