Specifications include, but are not limited to: This document is a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) to supply and install a turnkeyradio communication system including required local, state or federal permits and licensing. TheRespondent shall provide a migration path from the Zoos current Analog System to the proposed system.The proposed radio system shall permit the radio user to roam across the entire area of coverage withoutrequiring manual switching or changing of site information. With the intention that the Zoo expects theproposed system to be in service for a minimum of the next 7-10 years, the Respondent shall provide acompany statement of expected life of the proposed system. The system shall provide reliable, bandwidthefficient, radio functionality for Zoo operational groups and shall accommodate Zoo communicationsrequirements between our operational groups. The System shall provide the features, functions, andcapabilities as described herein. Zoo employees utilize radios in a variety of outdoor conditions, includingextreme temperatures, dirt, mud, rain/water, etc. User groups include animal caretakers, security,housekeeping and grounds, business operations, events, etc. Each workgroup requires a dedicated talkpath to communicate with each other using radios throughout the day, all day. In addition, eachworkgroup must also have the ability to communicate between workgroups. We also require the abilityto communicate to multiple talk-groups, simultaneously, during larger scale events, as well as emergencysituations. The proposed communications system should be similar to a school or university campussetting or larger company campus. The Zoo campus is approximately 91 acres and has both outdoor worklocations and indoor work locations, including many indoor work locations. There are also approximately13 acres of Zoo-owned property located south of a highway on which a multi-story parking garage islocated. The Zoo invites Respondents to provide multiple communication solution (DMR, Project-25, etc.)options that Respondent thinks is most appropriate for the Zoos campus. As the Zoo also potentially fallsinto the category of public safety, the Zoo encourages Respondents to submit P25 system alternatives andpricing as well.
