Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Contractor, under the general direction and supervision of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer(DCAO) for Public Safety shall develop, administer, analyze and conduct a detailed assessment to bedistributed to all Public Safety agencies employees, sworn and civilian.B. The assessment shall assess the development, accountability, transparency, engagement and training in anumber of areas which all relate to customer service regarding the employee daily interactions with thecitizens of Prince Georges County.C. The assessment shall assess existing crisis intervention and de-escalation training, respectively related tobehavioral health and use of force training. Below is a cursory list of major topic areas for assessmentwhich that reinforces the need to be professional and courteous while enforcing the law:1) Cultural Awareness2) Implicit Bias Training3) Courtesy with the Community4) Community Service5) Community Oriented Policing6) Human Relations/Crisis Intervention7) Health and Wellness8) Psychological Servicesa. Behavioral Healthb. Intervention techniquesc. Intellectual/Developmental Disabilitiesd. Peer Intervention9) De-escalation10) Drug and alcohol intoxication and overdose identification and intervention11) Patrol Procedures/Traffic Stops12) Police Use of Forcea. Tactical Alternatives13) Ethics14) Workplace Harassment Avoidance TrainingD. The Contractor shall be advised that Prince Georges County Police and Sheriff staff are taught a variety ofsubjects by both in-house and outside subject matter experts. Employees are exposed to a wide variety ofoverlapping themes which reinforce the agencys view that employees must be professional and courteouswhen representing the agency and interacting with the citizens we serve. Furthermore, the employeesshould have a working knowledge about the identification of and appropriate interventions for behavioralhealth concerns of anyone with whom they interact.
