2050 Comprehensive Plan

Specifications include, but are not limited to: Task 1: Community ParticipationConsultant shall develop a plan for public participation to be reviewed and approved by the ProjectManager. Public participation should take different forms including on-line surveying, a dedicatedwebsite for community comments, and in-person open houses. Special attention should be given tosoliciting participation from disadvantaged groups. The following shall be incorporated into the publicparticipation plan. ;Task 2: Elements of the Comprehensive PlanEach of the following areas of study shall account for individual chapters of the 2050 ComprehensivePlan. Each area of study shall include an analysis of the following critical areas and how the findings andrecommendations made in each of these study areas will improve these critical elements. Firms withexperience in these critical areas will be given preference. Economic Stability; Environmental Resilience; Social Equity; Physical Health ;2. Existing ConditionsConsultant will review existing county planning documents, census data, and municipal plans to developan existing conditions survey. This chapter will identify strengths and weaknesses of the county and willact as an introduction to the following chapters of the plan. Included in this chapter should be populationand economic conditions, estimates, projections, and forecasts for five, ten, and twenty year intervals. ;3. Agricultural ResourcesAgricultural has always been the pillar of the McHenry County economy. This chapter will analyzeexisting agricultural resources and opportunities. Strategies to preserve and continue significantagricultural food production in McHenry County should be included in the 2050 Comprehensive Plan.Agritourism is an agribusiness enterprise that is on the rise in the county. The McHenry County 2022-2025 Strategic Plan sets the goal of looking for ways to promote agritourism businesses in ourcommunity. This chapter should conclude with detailed guidance for locating new and innovativeagribusiness opportunities. A firm with experience in agritourism and/or other innovative agribusinessplanning will be given preference.
