Kickoff/Analysis The BIDDER and LA-RICS staff shall conduct a kickoffmeeting where the BIDDER will review information gathered during the walkthrough, which will include the new hardware configurations and review BestPractices in order to develop baseline design information. This requirement shallbe the first phase once BIDDER is awarded.2. Document Design BIDDER will lead an effort to develop a final design for LARICS. This will include the BIDDER recommendations for changes to existingnetwork infrastructure.3. Configuration Development Configuration templates for each type of hardwaredevice will be developed from the finalized design. These templates will be usedto facilitate the deployment of the network infrastructure.4. Design Review The design principles will be documented, and a final designreview will be conducted with all technical stakeholders.Task 2. Microsoft Enterprise Mail ExchangeBased on the requirements identified, BIDDER will work with LA-RICS to determine theend state Exchange design. Microsoft Exchange will primarily enable LA-RICS toconfigure and host email and collaboration services. In addition to email services,Microsoft Exchange will provide utilities which include Contact Management, TaskManagement and Calendar.BIDDER is required to configure and maintain the Active Directory Integration (ADI).This feature will allow LA-RICS to leverage Active Directory to populate and maintainthe users and groups within the servers. After configuration, ADI users and groups willbe automatically added, changed and archived on the Active Directory. This will be aone-way process of synchronization.BIDDER is required to maintain the Client Access, which is the connection and supportbetween servers for software applications (e.g. Microsoft Outlook).BIDDER is required to configure and maintain the Compliance and Archiving rules. Thisprocess will move data that is no longer actively used to a separate storage area/devicefor long-term retention. Archive data consists of older data that remains important toLA-RICS and must be able to be retrieved at any time. BIDDER is required to configure and maintain the servers Transport role and rules. The Transport shall route internet email flow in and out as well as protect the emailsfrom viruses and spam.BIDDER is required to configure and maintain the Servers Storage, which shalloptimize the appliance to feed information to the user. The Storage is used to store, access, secure and manage digital data, files and services over the network.Task 3. Active DirectoryBIDDER is required to configure and maintain an Active Directory for the following:1. Set the rules for Schma, which will define the classes of objects and attributescontained in the directory.2. Maintain the Global Catalog, which contains information about every object in thedirector. This will allow users and administrators to find directory information inthe data.3. Configure and maintain the Query and Index Mechanism. This is so the objectsand their properties can be published and found by network users or application.4. Maintain the Replication Services, which distributes directory data across thenetwork.BIDDER shall consult the current Active Directory design and look for gaps ordeficiencies in the following areas:1. Forest and Domain Architecture2. Domain Controllers3. DNS and Namespace design4. NetBIOS Name Resolution5. Flexible Single Master Operation (FSMO) Placement6. Replication topology and Site Design7. Group Policy Objects8. AD DS Monitoring and Backup Processes9. AD DS Disaster Recover10. AD DS Antivirus; Patch Management Processes11. Security Policies12. Account Lockout PoliciesBIDDER shall work with LA-RICS to understand the current environment and plan outthe details for the new Microsoft environment within the constraints of the solution.Topics to be covered in this phase include:1. Verify that requirements are meta. Applications need to be compatible with Active Directory Domain Servicesand the functional level Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019depending on the results on the design review2. Determine server naming conventionsa. Review of fully qualified domain name (FQDN), IP dependencies3. Identify existing Domain Services roles that will need transfers to the new domaincontrollers (DCs)a. DNS, DHCP, WINSb. Reuse of existing DCs NetBIOS names and/or IP Addressesc. Flexible Single Master Operations (FSMO) role holders4. Review scheduling requirements for Customer operations and cutover tasks
