Specifications include, but are not limited to:On March 20, 2012, the City of Tacoma adopted Ordinance 28057, amending Chapter 6A.70 ofthe Tacoma Municipal Code, to adopt a .1% sales tax for mental health treatment. The City hasimplemented a comprehensive funding plan that coordinates care for individuals struggling withmental health and substance use disorders. Additionally, the City has invested in programmingto address the co-occurring disorder (COD) needs of Tacoma residents struggling with bothmental health and substance use disorders. Current programming focuses on the adultpopulation, many of whom are experiencing homelessness. In an effort to address the unmetneeds for Tacoma youth struggling with co-occurring disorders, the City seeks to identifyqualified organizations that will work together as a team to form a coordinated system of carefor treating youth with co-occurring disorders.The City of Tacoma recognizes the need to support our youth with treatment options addressingboth mental health disorders and substance use disorders. We also understand how optionsmay be limited for youth seeking assistance without proper legal advocacy. For these reasons,the City of Tacoma is investing in creating a Youth Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment PilotProgram at Lincoln High School beginning in January 2016.
