Specifications include, but are not limited to:. Vendor General Responsibilities1. Vendor shall provide an effective workers compensation utilization management program (managedmedical care/cost containment delivery system).2. Provide an on-site utilization review (UR) nurse and/or support staff, for two (2) to three (3) hours perday, to assign new referrals, and scan medical records and/or referrals for the entire duration of thecontract.3. Establish and maintain an electronic data link with County claims system provider (SIMS) at noadditional cost to the County, within the first three months of commencement of the contract.4. Coordinate cost and utilization management activities to assure appropriate payment for health careservices rendered to County of San Bernardino occupationally ill or injured employees eligible forworkers compensation benefits.5. Review treatment for medical necessity, appropriateness and duration of care applying MedicalTreatment Utilization Schedule (MTUS) and other approved evidence-based guidelines.
