Specifications include, but are not limited to:The University is looking for a comprehensive solution to____________________ (Required)completely replace the existing WiFi infrastructure, enabling the leap to the next generation of WiFi (such as802.11ax) without completely replacing system controllersand management components. There are several important challenges a next generationWiFI network needs to address to improve and extendservice on campus.Enhanced service for users and devicesBetter management and troubleshootingScalabilityCoverageDepending on features and pricing APs and controllersmay be purchased from one supplier and a managementsolution from another.Enhanced Service for Users and DevicesToday users expect WiFi to be ubiquitous and to just work. However, access remains confusing and complicated insome cases. The end user experience needs to be simplerand seamless as people bring more devices to campus. Italso needs to be flexible and secure. Many devices thatpeople bring to campus are not fully capable enterprisedevices but still need to work to fulfill our mission. For example, here are a few scenarios which must beaddressed by any chosen solution:A single portal/SSID should be able to provide multiplelevels of network access or VLAN assignment based onuser identity or device type.Students in residence halls should be able to self managetheir various WiFi-enabled devices (TVs, media streamers, printers, etc.) and get them on the network at scale.Management of mDNS devices at scale on the campusnetwork. We estimate that there can be 20,000 of thesedevices at any one time. Balancing their effectiveness andimpact is a challenge.Infrastructure and educational tools that are not capableof enterprise authentication will also need network access
