Specifications include, but are not limited to:The scope of services includes, but is not limited to:(i) Design, provision, installation, configuration, and ongoing support of a newbroadband Wide Area Network Service (i.e. The Service) for theBirmingham City Schools.(ii) Provide at a minimum 10Gbps network access throughput (i.e. WANConnection) at each individual Birmingham City Schools campus/facilitylocation (i.e. WAN Site) to the District WAN Core Site.(iii) It is at the Proposers discretion how it will deliver the transport necessary inthe provision of The Service. Birmingham City Schools is not opposed toevaluation of transport technologies such as DWDM.(iv) The WAN Connection must be capable of supporting 802.11ad q-in-q forEthernet Frame delivery from to one of more WAN Core Site(s).(v) Provide WAN Connection delivery to one WAN Core Site. A WAN CoreSite is a district location that provides aggregation of traffic from all WANSites for access to district Data Center services, network security policy,content filtering, and Internet Access. The Birmingham City Schools Boardof Education located at 2015 Park Place North will be the WAN Core Site. .(vi) Proposers may identify and propose WAN Sites to function as WAN HUBSites. A WAN HUB Site is a WAN Site that at the discretion of theproposer and approval of Birmingham City Schools has advantages as acomponent in the network necessary to deliver the WAN services asdescribed in this RFP. Through Provisioning of a WAN HUB Site, theproposer may be able to offer The Solution more economically whilemeeting the requirements of this RFP.(vii) Provide resilient self-healing WAN Connection offering dynamic detectionand correction of network connectivity issues due to individual componentfailure at a WAN HUB Site and/or the WAN Core. Individual componentsprovided WAN HUB Site equipment (routers, switches, and opticalnetwork), WAN Core equipment (routers, switches, and optical network),and physical components used in the delivery of services at these locations,i.e. individual fiber, cross connects, etc.(viii) Provide each WAN Site with dedicated and non-shared bandwidth to theWAN Core. Birmingham City Schools is interested in proposals that willoffer high reliability and welcomes proposals offering high reliability.(ix) All equipment provided must be provisioned with A/B power supplies andable to operate on the loss of a single power supply. Birmingham CitySchools will provide necessary commercial power. Proposer must clearlystate the required power in Watts and also any special HVAC requirements
