Specifications include, but are not limited to: Remove all weeds within cracks, prepare cracks, clean and blow out with compressed air. Cover all manhole and valve covers in pavement and protect surrounding areas and work area as required. Protect areas from vehicular and foot traffic as required for set up time of sealants and paint. NONE 2 Crackfilling/Sealing 1: of approximately 3,600 L.F. of cracks .25 -1.5 inches with sand or filler material. Crackfilling/Sealing 2: of approximately 600 LF of cracks 1.5 inches and greater with pea gravel or filler material. Minimum oil depth shall match width of crack and no less than 3/4. CDOT 3405 3 Infrared Heat Patch: Install approximately 38 5 X 7 infrared heat patches for alligatored cracking, and/or depressions at a minimum of 2 inches deep. Heat pavement area to a temperature between 290F and 325F to soften pavement. Scarify heated softened asphalt with an asphalt rake full depth of 2-3 inches. Add asphalt Binder at a rate of .20 gallon per square yard while pavement material is still soft and workable. Blacktop may be added to heated material if needed to assure a smooth, flush finish to adjoining pavement surface
