Specifications include, but are not limited to: All work shall comply with the Kansas City, MO, Department of Public Works, StandardConstruction and Materials Specification, Division II / Section 2800, Division V / Section 5800, and anysupplemental changes.1. The Contractor shall stake all pole relocations. Prior to any construction, the City inspector shall verify all polerelocations staked by the Contractor. Pole setback shall be 2 to 3 from back of curb. All poles must be installedperpendicular to the street. No diagonal installations are allowed. The mounting height shall match existinginstallations. The Engineer will determine exceptions. Minimum ADA sidewalk clearances shall be maintained.2. All utility locates shall be ordered by the Contractor. Prior to any construction, the Engineer shall approve anychanges to the plans due to utility or other conflicts.3. The wood pole relocations shall be on a 120Volt system. All wiring and other components of the electricalsystem construction shall meet or exceed the latest revision of National Electrical Code (NEC) or the NationalElectrical Safety Code (NESC) Standards.4. Contractor is responsible for all restoration of the construction site to City specifications at no additional cost.Contractor is also responsible for all costs associated with any damage, including but not limited to landscaping,sprinkler systems, water, sewer, curb and sidewalk, gas main, etc., caused by the construction.5. Overhead cable shall be a #4 DUPLEX or #6 DUPLEX per existing condition. Overhead conductors shall bealuminum, color coded according to the NEC, insulated with cross-link polyethylene and sized per plans.Supporting hardware shall be 5/8 inch or 16,000 pound, standard pole line hardware. Wedge clamps shall havealuminum wedges and stainless steel bails and shells. Connectors shall be standard bolted type conductors withoxide inhibitors to prevent corrosion (APWA 2802.8). No mid-span splices are allowed.6. The Contractor shall contact and coordinate pole relocations and service disconnections with the CitysMaintenance Supervisor, Carolyn Adkins at (816) 513 987
