Specifications include, but are not limited to: In 1994, the Second Judicial District implemented the DADC and in 2011 established the DADCVeterans Trauma Court Track. A key principle or component of a Veterans Trauma Court is thatForging partnerships among Veterans Treatment Court, Veterans Administration, public agencies, andcommunity-based organizations generates local support and enhances Veteran Treatment Courteffectiveness.1Peer support is a key factor in helping our targeted population through crisis, assistingthem in developing necessary navigation and survival skills and improving the quality of their everydaylives. The peer mentors active, supportive relationships with the veterans throughout treatment increasethe likelihood that they will remain in treatment and improve their chances for law-abiding behavior andsobriety. The 2nd Judicial District Probation Department, as the fiscal agent for the Offender Servicesfund, desires to use these funds for Peer Mentoring Services.
