Specifications include, but are not limited to:The County is seeking proposals to secure a qualified contractor to transport Class B biosolidsfrom CKTP to Natural Selection Farms a (BUF) in Yakima County. The Contractor will supplythe tractor but the proposal should include different alternatives, for the Contractor supplyingtrailers, Kitsap County supplying the trailers, or a combination of the trailers supplied by both thecontractor and Kitsap County. Currently the County hauls two to three and occasionally four 25-ton loads per week using two 36 Mate aluminum end-dump trailers. The County will requirethat one trailer remains at CKTP at all times. Kitsap County currently has a contract in placewith Natural Selection Farms to receive their biosolids, so this proposal is strictly fortransportation. The proposal should be based on the following two parameters. 1. Planned routine transportation to Natural Selection FarmsThis task involves regular, 2-3 loads a week of transportation of Class B biosolids on anongoing basis. The Sewer Utility plans to transport 50-75 tons of biosolids weekly. Thisquantity may vary over the duration of the contract period, in response to operationalchanges. Planned routine hauling will begin on a schedule and quantity mutually agreedupon by the County and the Contractor, upon finalizing an agreement.2. Planned intermittent transportation to Natural Selection FarmsThis task involves periodic transportation of Class B biosolids when plant process requires afourth load to be taken to Natural Selection Farms. This situation typically happens 5-6 timesper year. If plant process requires a fourth load, the County will provide as much notice aspossible to the Contractor. The additional load will be scheduled based on mutually agreedupon terms between the County and the Contractor.
