Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Wolcott has received a Municipal Planning Grant from the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development to hire a consultant to conduct a Phase I Solar Feasibility Study for the former Wolcott Town Landfill site. The study site is located off Dump Rd in Wolcott, Vermont adjacent to the Transfer Station. The landfill was closed and properly sealed over twenty years ago. This Study will assess the possibility of siting a 500 to 700kW solar array on the Landfill site to offset operational costs of municipal buildings (Town Garage/Fire Department, Town Office, Historical Society Building, and Town Hall) in the village center, and explore opportunities for village and town residents to purchase local, and affordable renewable energy. Currently, Wolcott is completely dependent on outside electric providers as a source for power production.
