Specifications include, but are not limited to:The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to invite qualified Suppliers to prepare and submit proposals to furnish dairy products to the University of California (UC), Cal Dining, in accordance with the requirements set forth in this RFP. Qualified Suppliers are invited to submit proposals, based on the information provided in this RFP, with the intent to establish a business alliance with UC that will maximize the resources of both organizations to most effectively meet UCs needs. Supplier agrees to make available the goods to any UC location upon the terms, conditions and pricing set forth in a agreement awarded in response to Suppliers proposal. At the University's option, a walk through of the facilities and delivery locations may be required prior to the contract award. Samples of product may also be required prior to contract award.Specifications Required (Mandatory) for this RFP Delivery is required six (6) days/week. Successful supplier will provide dairy products in conjunction with Cal Dining's Seasonal Operating Calendar and Annual Closing Calendar, which can be found in the "Documents" section of this RFP (dates are subject to change). The successful supplier will be required to deliver to all existing Cal Dining locations (subject to additional locations acquired during the course of the contract). Delivery is required between 6:00AM Pacific Standard Time and 8:00AM Pacific, and no later than 10:30AM Pacific Time. The University requires that no dark drops are allowed. The University requires no minimum for delivery. The cut-off order time will be 6:00PM Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday, for next day delivery. Mispicks or shortages are required to be delivered later the same day within business hours, or proper credits are required to be issued the same day. Delivery drivers are required to wait until the receiver verifies and signs-off on the invoice for delivery accuracy. No subtherapeutic antibiotics; no hormones; no beta-agonists: Cattle must never be given antibiotics subtherapeutically (continuous low doses in feed or water) nor given any other manmade compound to promote growth or replace good animal husbandry.Humane: Supplier must have a third- party certification that guarantees the welfare of the dairy cattle is considered. Acceptable certifications include American Humane Certified, Certified Humane, Global Animal Partnership (Steps III, IV, V) and Animal Welfare Approved.Local: Dairy cattle must be raised and handled within 250 miles of the UC Berkeley campus. All dairy products including milk, butter, cream, yogurt, and cheese must be processed and distributed from a location within 250 miles from the UC Berkeley campus.
