Specifications include, but are not limited to:The City of Rialto is requesting proposals from qualified third party claims administration (TPA) firms to administer and manage the Citys self-insurance workers compensation program. A written contract will be executed by both the City of Rialto and the selected firm. Such Professional Services Agreement will be for a period of three (3) years, with the option of two (2) one-year extensions, upon consent of all parties involved. There shall be a provision within the contract stating that the City has the right to cancel, without cause, with sixty (60) days written notice. Background. The City of Rialto was founded in 1887 and incorporated in 1911. The City operates as a general law city with a City Council-City Administrator form of government. Five (5) Council members serve four (4) year, overlapping terms, with elections held every two (2) years. The Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Municipal services are provided by the Citys approximately 320 full-time benefited employees (as of May 31, 2016). The City of Rialtos management style for handling workers compensation claims is hands-on and to act quickly and efficiently with the goal of getting workers well and back to work. The City has an effective temporary modified duty program that encourages the placement of claimants in modified roles. The City of Rialto makes use of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program approved by the State, a Medical Provider Network, Pharmacy Network, Utilization Review, Bill Review, Nurse Case Management, 24/7 Nurse Hotline, and Surveillance provided through the current TPA, plus Defense Attorney Representation.
