Specifications include, but are not limited to: The New York City Transit Authority (NYCT) seeks to retain the services of multiple contractor/designer teams for design andconstruction services associated with the implementation of the Enhanced Station Initiative (ESI) Program. NYCT will be following atwo-step Request for Proposal (RFP) process whereby proposers qualified under Step 1 will be eligible to participate in Step 2 andsubmit proposals for subsequent RFP packages, anticipated to include 3-5 stations each. The work will include making the stations cleaner, brighter and easier to navigate, by utilizingmeans such as improved lighting and more intuitive way-finding and will provide amenities suchas Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity. This will involve architectural finishes (including painting andsignage), structural repair and modifications, electrical (including lighting, communications andtechnology) and mechanical work, as well as architectural and engineering services andsurveying. Some contract packages will also include industrial design associated with stationfurniture and architectural elements and components to be installed within these stations.
