Specifications include, but are not limited to:Port of Seattle, Marine Maintenance retained Argus Pacific, Inc. (Argus Pacific) to conduct aregulated building materials assessment of Building W-50 located at 2001 West Garfield Streeton Terminal 91 in Seattle, Washington. Argus Pacifics representative, Ms. Shannon MacKay,conducted the assessment from April 10-12, 2013. The scope of the services provided isdescribed in Argus Pacific Proposal Number P640569 dated March 27, 2013 and associatedService Directive 9 dated April 7, 2013.Argus Pacific assessed the building for the following regulated building materials: Asbestos-containing materials (ACM); Assumed asbestos-containing materials; Lead-containing coatings (paints); Mercury-containing light tubes, switches, and thermostats; Suspected high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps; and Suspected PCB-containing fluorescent light ballasts.Sixty-nine bulk samples of suspect asbestos-containing materials were collected and analyzedusing Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM). Twelve materials were found to contain greater thanone percent asbestos, seven materials were assumed to contain asbestos, and two materials werefound to contain less than one percent asbestos. In addition, two materials were visually assessedand determined to be non-suspect.
