Specifications include, but are not limited to:The awarded contractor will be responsible for In Ground/Above Ground Swimming Pool, Spa and Jacuzzi(attached and detached) Water Drainage Services.All work performed in fulfilling the requirements of this contract will be accomplished by competentpersonnel, utilizing professional maintenance methods. Services shall include all personnel supervision,equipment and supplies used and provided by the Contractor.Contractor(s) will be notified on an as needed basis by the Environmental Health Specialist or CityAuthorized Personnel to maintain City residential properties. This is due to physical condition(s) whichconstitute a public nuisance to the health, safety and welfare of the City of Allen. Conditions include but arenot limited to unhealthy stagnant water that can cause hazards such as mosquito infestation and west nilevirus.Swimming Pool, Spa and Jacuzzi drainage shall comply with the City of Allen Code of Ordinance No. 2401-5-05 Sections 6-16 (a) (2), (a) (8) and (a) (12) as they apply to the materials and services within the industryand as specified by the Manufacturer.As stated in the City of Allen Article 4 Property Maintenance Code Section Ordinance Sec 6-85 on ExteriorGrounds, It shall be unlawful to drain swimming pool backwash onto public or private property. It is alsounlawful to drain swimming pool water containing chemicals onto adjacent private or public property, toinclude alleys. However, those pools built prior to adoption of this ordinance shall maintain a nonconformingstatus until such time as the Environmental Protection Agency or other federal agency requires enforcementby the city. Pool, Jacuzzi and Spa water must be drained directly into the sanitary sewer.INITIATION OF WORK1. Work shall not begin until Contractor receives official Notice to Proceed from City.2. Contractor shall coordinate with the Code and Health Compliance Manager on work schedule andnotification of completed work schedule.3. Contractor should continue to work per the schedule as agreed upon with the Code and HealthCompliance Manager, unless otherwise notified or approved.4. A City of Allen Environmental Health Specialist or City Authorized Personnel must accompany thecontractor when on resident property at all times
