Specifications include, but are not limited to:2.2.1 The Contractor shall provide roll-off dumpsters, (i.e. tarp top and hardtop) for bulk collection of thematerial and/or provide tandem wheel dump trucks as necessary to allow for the removal of sweeper materialstored on site at various MDTA locations. If bulk, roll-off type, containers are requested for any MDTAlocation, the Contractor shall place the appropriately sized container on site at the direction of the MDTAsCFMO or Maintenance Supervisor.2.2.2 The Contractor may be required to obtain samples of sweeper dirt for analysis to verify the composition ofeach waste stream, test for any impurities, secure and placard all roll-off containers, dump trucks, or othertransportation containers. Sampling parameters and frequency may be dictated by the disposal/recyclingfacility. Such requirements must be submitted, in writing, to MDTAs Office of Environmental Safety andRisk Management (OESRM) on Company letterhead for review and acceptance. The MDTA is only requiringone sampling event per year per facility. Each Contractor should have identified the facility they intend to usefor accepting the sweeper dirt material. Accordingly, it is the Contractors responsibility to determine ifproviding analytical results more frequently than annually will be required of the facility.2.2.3 ROUTINE WASTE STREAM2.2.3.1 Any MDTA location may choose to utilize roll-off containers for the collection of sweepermaterial. This container will be dedicated to receive only sweeper dirt and other material collected throughroutine road sweeping. All roll- off type containers shall be furnished with waterproof liners and waterprooftarpaulin type coverings or rigid hard-top coverings. Usually, at least once each month, the MDTA performs sweeping of its facilities. The sweeper dirtcollected through these efforts will be placed in the Contractors container or a storage unit constructed bythe MDTA (e.g., dewatering pad) for disposal or recycling. When the container or storage unit reachescapacity, the MDTA will notify the Contractor to pick-up and dispose/recycle the material. The Contractorshall acknowledge the pick-up request, when notified (by phone or email), within twenty-four (24) hours(Section The Contractor shall pull the container and return an empty one or remove the material viatandem wheel dump trucks from existing storage units within five (5) Working Days.
