Specifications include, but are not limited to:Contractor shall provide an eco-friendly and sustainable vegetation maintenance services as needed by Metro. There are currently two (2) identified locations, Metro Center Levee and 1450 Lebanon Pike, that the sustainable vegetation maintenance services will be utilized; however, Metro reserves the right to use these services at additional locations as needed.Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to the pavement, concrete entrances, ramps, concrete flood-wall, or other infrastructure as a result of the services being performed. Damaged property shall be restored to its original condition, or near thereto as is reasonable possible that is acceptable to Metro. Any restoration cost shall be at a no additional expense to Metro.Contractor must submit a quote for departmental review and approval. If approved, a purchase order will be issued. A purchase order must be issued and a two (2) day advance notice must be given to the department contact prior before starting work. Contractor must have a fully authorized Project Manager available by cell phone seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day, during the entirety of the vegetation management operations.Contractor shall maintain an accessible corridor that provides at least one clear and safe path of travel for vehicles, greenway pedestrians, and bicyclists while work is being performed.Contractor shall meet with MWS for bi-weekly meetings (during mowing season) and provide progress information.Contractor shall spread seed as deemed necessary and with Metro's approval. Seed is to be broadcast by hand spreader, unless otherwise approved by Metro, and applied at a rate in accordance with TDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Inspections (Section 801).Metro Center LeveeThe designated area on the Metro Center Levee shall be cleared of brush and tall grass at a minimum of one (1) time in the spring/summer and one (1) time in the fall/winter, as deemed necessary by Metro Water Services (MWS) Storm Water Division. MWS reserves the right to make a determination if the contractor shall clear the designated area at different times. Storm Water Division excpects the proposed brush and grass clearing is to be completed over a two (2) month period. The estimated acreage for the Metro Center Levee (river side) is 19 acres and approximately 3.2 miles in length. The nearest address to the Metro Center Levee (river side) location is 741 Freelands Station Road. Contractor shall install seed consisting of 23% Unhulled Bermuda (raw), 39% Kentucky 31 Fescue and 38% Perennial Rye grasses in the fall and spring or as deemed necessary by MWS. Seed is to be broadcast by hand spreader and applied at a rate in accordance with TDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Inspections (Section 801)
