Specifications include, but are not limited to:Project DescriptionThe City of Greenville is proposing signal upgrades and safety improvements along the StoneAvenue corridor. The project will consist of upgrades to two intersections along Stone Avenueat Rutherford Street and Townes Street. The sidewalk and handicap ramps at the intersectionswill be replaced and brought up to standard and restriping will be completed at eachintersection. The purpose of the project is to update the signals along Stone Avenue to mastarm poles and to improve pedestrian and traffic safety at both intersections. The signal at StoneAvenue and Townes Street will be included in the fiber network left by recent signal upgradesalong Stone Avenue. The project will be administered and managed by the City of Greenville.Scope of WorkThe City of Greenville is requesting sealed and competitive bids from qualified contractors forsignal upgrades at the intersections of Stone and Rutherford, and Stone and Townes (Seeattached reference map). The scope of work will consist of the installation of mast arm signalpoles and upgrades to the radius returns at both intersections to bring them up to current ADAstandards. Stone Avenue and Rutherford Street are owned and maintained by the South CarolinaDepartment of Transportation (SCDOT) and all work will be performed in accordance with theprovisions of an approved SCDOT encroachment permit. Townes Street is owned andmaintained by the City of Greenville. The project will consist of, but not limited to, trafficcontrol, removal and disposal of existing signal pole foundations, curb and gutter repair (asnecessary), sidewalk repair (as necessary), installation of mast arm signal poles and pedestrianpoles, electrical and fiber installation, loop detection, restriping the intersections, and allother work required to install fully operational traffic signals as shown in the construction plans.The project will be administered and managed by the City of Greenville. The contractor chosento complete the work will be responsible for providing all materials and labor needed tocomplete the job. It is the contractors responsibility to visit the site and review all constructionplans.
