Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking bids for the development and implementation of a summer program that will include various activities that will cover both Academic and Extra Curriculum classes. This program is designed to offer resident of the DJJ fun learning events for the summer of 2016.BACKGROUND: The DJJ currently operates two Juvenile Correctional Centers; Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center located in Chesterfield County and Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center located in Powhatan County. Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center houses approximately 200 residents while Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center houses approximately 160 residents. Visitations are scheduled on each Sunday. The hours are 8:30am to 11am and 1:00pm to 3:30pm. This is a time for residents to visit with their families. Many residents are unable to visit with families due to lack of transportation. Approximately 40 50 students will be participating.STATEMENT OF NEEDS: The DJJ is asking a for a plan and implementation of summer classes that will engage students in grades 6-12 in a way that will create team building, social, and thought processing skills that can be applied in normal life situations. Examples of classes could be art, music, creative writing, role playing and team sports. There may be approximately 40-50 students in the summer of 2016.Specific Goals:To provide students with a challenging learning environment.To create a learning environment that motivates and inspires collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.Roles and ResponsibilitiesDJJWill Participate in planning meetingsWill Provide SpaceWill Provide technology NeedsWill Provide SecurityContractorShall Coordinate all aspects of the programShall Identify and provide teachersShall Implement SessionsThe Offeror shall provide a timeline to cover the summer of 2016.The budget must show price details and be all inclusive.
