Specifications include, but are not limited to:This RFQ is for construction of the Springfield Technical Community College Renovation to Building 19 located in Springfield, MA. This project will renovate approximately 100,000 GSF of a historic storehouse, part of the Springfield National Armory. Now a historic site, the building is currently used by Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) for limited storage. Approximately 80% of the building has never been occupied for use other than storage. The proposed renovation and adaptive reuse will provide a modern interior serving campus center functions while still maintaining the historic character of Building 19, in accordance with National Park Service guidelines. Building 19 will consolidate a Learning Commons, Student Administrative Services, Library and social spaces for students use under one roof. The renovation will include the removal of the existing building systems and limited structure. The new scope will include exterior glazing systems, partitions, architectural finishes, vertical circulation, masonry restoration, structural seismic upgrades, new restrooms, and new food service facilities. New building systems will include Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection, including the relocation of the existing electrical substation. Sitework will include new water and sewer service within surrounding and adjacent site, sewer connections to proximate Buildings, 7, 8 and 9, electrical and telecom campus loop connections, campus steam and condensate connections for Buildings 28 and 32, campus chiller water connections for Building 19 and the reconstruction of site roadways, parking, and rain gardens for storm water management. The building is targeting LEED Silver / Mass Plus. While the Project is still in Design, DCAMM anticipates the Trade Scopes will be as described below. However, DCAMM reserves the right to change the work as design continues.
