The program goals are to help customers maintain, enhance, or regain their independence bylearning to confidently use public transportation in south Placer County, which includes Auburn Transit,Placer County Transit, and Roseville Transit. The City desires to contract with an organization or agency toprovide professional travel trainers for this specialized training for an initial term of one year, with options toextend the contract for four additional years in one year increments. These optional extensions will be at thesole discretion of the City. The Mobility Training Program provided by the Contractor will include: identifyingseniors and individuals with disabilities and assessing their eligibility for the program; determining theappropriate level of training; designing and performing individualized or group training; and, documentingand reporting training outcomes, cost-effectiveness of the program and client follow-up procedures. Theprofessional services agreement will be managed by the Alternative Transportation Division staffand implemented in collaboration with area transit service providers and a variety of community and socialservice agencies. There will be no charge for individuals or groups who meet program requirements toparticipate in this program and participation is strictly voluntary. No additional specifications were given.
